did i say it has to be slow? when i see DJ laptop in the thread title i think playing live music. virtual dj wouldnt lag on any system with windows 2000 unless its some piece of shit compaq from 2002. if you wanna remix buy a good computer. if you wanna play music live u dont need the worlds fastest computer just for virtual dj v2.0.

I Use To Bring CDz To Party. Then When I Go To The Bathroom Half My CDs Are Stolen. I Go To Smoke A Cigarette And People Just Keep On Stealing It. It Was Then I Learned The That No Body Would Really Touch Your Ipod. When I Gotta Take Breaks I Leave My Ipod To Play So I Could Hear It And Then If The Song Changes I Know Something Is Up. The Only Bad Thing Is That At The End Of The Night My Ipod Stinks Of Liquor.

i think eventually everyone is gonna be dj'in thru a laptop... but thats just me.. its starting to happen and thats where the trend seems to point towards.... but vinyl and cd's are gonna stick around for the throwback dj's

+1. The older cats will lug around their 10,000 cd collection vs put all of them on a laptop and use it. I think cd and vinyl will always be cleaner then a laptop, thats just me.

i rather have a few cd's stolen than a laptop.

Yeah that IS a major problem thats happened to me a couple times before. once at this family party and another at some west indian club. lesson to be learnt - when you're away from your cds, make sure someones around. im always with one my boys or my cousins or SOMEONE to watch my shyt when im not around.

and i still dont like the idea of playing music through a laptop. and NO im not an old man, im 17 lol but id spin with cds ANY DAY.

i started off djing a lil bit with the cd's but now i learned how to dj thru the laptop and i dont think ill go back lol... ill admit tho djing with vinyl and cd's require much more skill.. but for me its more time consuming when i can use a laptop to focus on other things besides the beatmatching etc... and work on other things like loops, picking the next tracks, or adding in effects and ting.. but thats just me... everyone has their own preference

well in that case then nah
    ill stick to laptop dj'ing
the extra "skill" doesn't really make a difference to me
when it comes down your still mixing no matter if its easy or not
i rather my laptop but i will mess around with cds later this year
