I’ve always used cheap under $100 headphones with speakers that have low impedance. I choose cheap because most of the time I DJ in clubs and between how loud it gets in there no real audio quality is recognized out the headphones. I only use it to cue up songs so audio quality isn’t a factor for me. low impedance because the lower it is yes you get a lower quality speaker but it gets louder. My SRT is able to amplify the headphones loud enough but on my Rev 7 the same headphones sound drastically quieter. that being said it’s all about what you’re using it for. If for producing or mastering definitely get something high quality. But personally for me DJing and just queuing up tracks cheap is more than good enough for me
My recommendation is V-Moda Overear headphones. You can get them printed with your DJ Logo. Their audio quality is great. The MAIN reason I recommend them is because they are extremely durable. They can be bent, thrown, etc., they will last. Its a one and done purchase for at least a decade.
