Is it worth it in the long run?

Lease don’t own just drive it for two or three years and return it since no one know how reliable they are yet. For instance the Tesla Model X is a popular lease that will most likely run you about $900 or more a month due to shortages.

Leasing is a good idea as the tech is still developing and the prices should start to drop in the future (although present global events might push those benefits back further). I three year leased a 9-seater Vaxhaull van in Dec 2021 and I am loving it. Won't ever go back to petrol if I can help it. Saving so much money now as electricity is still far cheaper. Do it.

Go for gasoline vehicles. If you're buying an electric, make sure its new and not used. If you buy a used electric car, you never know if the past owner treated the vehicle with care or not.

I am thinking to go the hybrid route first before full electric and as DJ NoiZee said the "service" history is the problem for me also.

I agree with most here. While the technology has come a long way, it's not enough for me at this time. It currently cost more to charge an electric vehicle than to fill up by gas, I would lease or go the hybrid route which is proven.

Unless you set up your home, you still need to find charging stations.
