    Sup fellas..

    I gotta dj for this maticoor night coming up memorial weekend and I wanted to know what type of music people does really play for maticoor night/dig dutty.

    I don't wanna end up playing any songs just because it has the word maticoor in it. I know some dj's play tassa for it too. Allyuh know any good songs or type of songs I should be playing?

    at maticoor nights, as i played 3 of them, they want tassa yes, but they have LIVE tassa for dat
    so deres no point in even playing tassa
    stick with some hot chutney (mousie, chaaley baazi)
    throw in some indian mixes
    but the whole thing should be hyped
    w.e. u do dont play reggae.

    lol iteee... soo basically hit them wid sum old chutney type with the heavy drums

    yea true i think they have the live tassa.. ill mix in sum yankaran... maybe even go in with sum sundar popo and classic old chutney

    unless its really old soca and unless you trying to test it out the waters try it see what happens

    theres no such thing as being locked into just playing old school shit just test the waters your the dj make the flow for the people.

    oh jones i kno cuz its a familys friend wedding... its split too... half trinis and half guyanese... i dont wanna kill the trinis with just pure chutney... they like their soca too... ill mix it up but for the most part keep it chutney and old skool 90's type music

    if theres trini people and there jamming u got nothing to worry about.
    if thye sit down then you got something to worry about

    remember please majority not minority when you djing.

    test out some backyard jam or thsoe chutney cds by premier and disc.

    if u test out a soca chune and that dont work go back to original plan.

    Your right i did a party before and just because one person says play a certain song doesnt really mean squat cus majority does count. For maticoor's is nice chutney like Anand Yankarran, Rakesh Yankarran, you could try babla and kancha and sunday but in the early part but its up to you. i wouldnt really recommend it in the middle/ending.

    one more thing hope u guys dont penalize me for this but sam boodram, boodram holas , rasika dindial , karma , dil e nadan , also spreadpal cd's works great but its your disgretion tho.

    seriosuly the beats on some his tracks are really good

    but some people just dont know it at all
    so it wont always work

    Also if you can get some Ramdai Chaitoe Remixes That would be great for something like that (even better if you can loop em looped). But for sure things like The Mousie Mixdown, some sonny man tracks like Charai Laywo, Videsh Sookoo...Basically Shit thats Fast 135+ BPM. Also Slower chutney songs like everybody dancing, etc.. would be a good startoff
