whatz good ppl. one of my laptops is an acer travelmate 2480 with a 1.46 ghz socket 479 celeron processor.. i was bored one nite so i decided to do some research to see if laptop cpu swapping is even possible, and it is. unfortunately my chipset (940GML) doesn't have dual core support so i cant upgrade to a core2duo. the fastest processor that can run on this chipset is a 2.166 ghz T1600 core solo but i cant even find that anywhere online or even the intel website, but i've been searching thru and thru on ebay and i found a 1.86 ghz intel core solo chip, which brings me to my question. is it worth the effort and costs to upgrade by 0.4 ghz? the laptop works fine i just want a more speed. will this speed up my system slightly or dramatically? its only 15 bucks but it needs to be a 15 bucks well spent. or is it better to just buy a new laptop all together to get more speed. any comments appreciated. plan on using the laptop for virtual dj & acid.

also, if i do decide to upgrade, i'll push the ram to 2gbs and add a 250 gbs hdd and spray the case over.

    thanks.

most likely the increase will be slightly, ago ahead & try it since it's only $15.
