ok guys here's the story ...i have a Bravia KDL-40V4100 40'' LCD tv and the LCD screen inside cracked because someone hit it (long story) Anyways....I know if i was to take it back to the store i know for sure they won't replace it because it was cause by the owners so what am asking is ..would it be possible for me to like open the TV ..detach a wire so the tv won't turn on and take it back with that '''the TV won't turn on '' story ? Do you guys think they would believe that and possibly replace it ? Thanks if you can give me anyother ideas would be help full i know this is scamipish but hey ...that's too much money
I'm sure opening the TV will **** up some sticker or something and thus void ur warranty, and if the store checks to see if u opened the tv, they won't replace it. For example, to open a Sony PSP, theres a sticker on top of one of the screws and tampering with the sticker voids ur warranty. Some external hard drives are the same way. I'm not sure if this is the same with tv's, but just pointing that out if you do decide opening it. As for disconnecting the LCD, i think its possible, i havent done so myself, but wen i replace LCD Monitors on laptops, its a simple plug u detach and plug into the new screen. Like i said, idk if its the same concept inside your Bravia
Suggestion would be Pay to ship it from a Post Office to your home address.....take out the insurance for it......when it arrives it will be cracked....hence collect the insurane money. You didn't hear it from me, but if it works you can credit me
