ZTE and TCL will be the first to offer computers with Firefox Mobile OS, which will seek to make a space in the third platoon of mobile operating systems. In 2013 the first teams will be ready

The major telecommunications companies, including Deutsche Telekom and Sprint will support the new platform for smartphones, Firefox Mobile OS, to increase competition with Google and Apple in the software market for mobile phones next year.

The Mozilla Foundation, creator of the Firefox browser, said mobile phone makers ZTE and TCL Communication Technology launched the first Firefox Mobile OS phones using Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors in early 2013.

A comprehensive support telcos and phone manufacturers is crucial for any new smartphone platform launch in a market increasingly dominated by Google's Android software, which has a market share of about 60 percent.

Besides the market leaders Android and Apple, a number of smaller players such as RIM, Microsoft and Bada, Samsung also compete for a place.

Several phone companies have tried to create platforms to combat the growing dominance of Android, but so far have failed, as they had to create from scratch an ecosystem around the platform: development tools, applications and developer community.

The sector has seen the disappearance of many competing platforms in recent years, including initiatives such as the LiMo operator, in addition to WebOS Palm and Symbian OS, Nokia, not got enough support from developers and device manufacturers .

The new platform part in order to solve the problem using a lot of web developers and most applications already created in HTML5, the preferred standard for content creation mobile browser.

Firefox's open platform to push Microsoft and Google, which in turn try to attract manufacturers of mobile phones. However, Microsoft charges licensing fees of up to $ s20 per phone Windows and also collects copyright Android device manufacturers.

Rise ZTE and TCL, which uses the Alcatel brand for their phones, they hope that the new Firefox platform will help to compensate for their late entry into the growing market for advanced phones.

The new platform combines HTML5 with some basics of Linux technology, reducing the need for an operating system independent, allowing for quick implementation of new models of mobile phones.

The phone's price will be significantly cheaper than the low-end models for Android, ie Firefox phones will be priced at about $ s50, excluding operator subsidies.

This compares with prices of around u $ s200 for most smartphones.

Mozilla said that Deutsche Telekom, Sprint, Smart, Telecom Italia, Telenor and Etisalat support the Firefox platform.
