Thanks to You Guys I Built My Own Pc

well as some you guys know i been debating to buy a new computer.
anyways long story short ive been hearing about some of you guys stuff and how good you are with pc's so i decided to build my own.
i did allot researching and watched some youtube vids and today i got all the parts and put it together in around 5hr -6 hrs.
right now im reinstalling xp because i cant get the boot drive to be letter c.

but anways i did it and i aint ever think i could build my own pc.

ok the specs go as:
intel core quad i7 920 2.66ghz
3 gb ram corsair
2 500gb western digital hds
some bullshit lite on cd drive
memory card reader by rosewill
asus p6t motherboard
evga 9600 gt video card
asus triton cpu cooler

well nothing spectacular looking, but if your wondering what the bench marks are on this thing?
its 7500 on geek bench.

7500 THAT ****ING ALLOT lol
it smokes the 2800 dollar macpro that had 8 processors running at 2.8ghz

i wanna overclock it to 3.2ghz

right now the i7 processors are crazy so if you building your own just get the 920 people are over clocking them to over 4.5ghz with air cooling.

my budge was 2k, but included a screen and 2 externals.
basically it costed me around 1200 to build without the bullshit.

and if you went with cheaper parts this computer it builable at 8-1000 bucks easy.

took around 5-6 hrs to build.
took almost all day to do all the formatting and xp shit.
i learned how to build it by watching youtube videos no lie.
if i didnt watch those vids i wouldnt have no ideal wtf i was doing.

the only issues im having is i cant run my external as esata what so ever. my external sound card isnt installing but i know why.
i dont think i can run both my external harddrives with firewwire connections. i ordered a lacie pci firewire card with texas instruments chip set so hopefully everything will work connected to that.

installing acid 6 and 7 as well as all my plugins took under 6 minutes.

the cpu has 7 fans and doesnt blow hot air what so ever. i have 1 more on order that has white leds it costed like 6 dollars for it lol.

just ran a master render of my last complted cd as wav.
on my old computer it took 10 minutes for the entire cd render.
on this new one here its putting out the render at 6 minutes 15 seconds.
also its more responsive so im running firefox and opening and closing acid and checking so thats cool less lag FTW!.
faster render times.

Bai Me And You have the Same Antec 900 Case Bai just different shit inside, also bai those fan in da front does pick up lots of dust...if you dont clean dem often they does go grey .... and the big fan on the top bai... make sure yu keep yu liqour away from am bai

 

it could be done. but the wiring right now is already tight as is.

i dont really care for the lighting to the music because that relies on the motherboard sound card which i wont use.

i got 1 more fan coming in with 4 white led lights and that should be the end of cooling n lighting.

 

yes it can be i got a bulb set up to my amp maybe ill put a vid later lol
