Well, I have a HP Pavilion Dv1000. Its a good laptop. Recently it was working fine. Then the charger started to act up. I dont know if its the charger or the laptop, but the TIP of the charger would overheat, and you could smell something burning. I thought it was the charger. It melted piece of the Charger Input port. So, I bought a new one, from HP. Samething happened again (Got Me pissed, a waste of $45) and the charger stop working. I called up HP, but they require me to "re-new my warranty" (****ers). Now I'm not sure what to do. Anyone got any ideas/solutions. Thanks.
it could be the charger cause i had that rpoblem with my sony so if its not the charger it can be the battery keeps over heating
oh ok..cause I dont want to order a new charger and waste money again...I'm going to take it to a PC shop tomorrow. Hopefully I get a "Cheap" answer, lol.
LOL, all my money done. I wasted it on Computer/Car Parts. I dont want anything for Christmas. I jus wan fix my laptop. The thing is I bought 2 chargers for it, and my parents was stupid enough to go out and buy a $113 charger. Which ended up getting messed up. =\

tell them the charger is defective & they'll send you a new one; shipping and everything they'll have to cover.
he has to pay for a new warranty am i right vik also they might tell you to send the charger so they can test it and if its not the charger then idk
LOL, I called them up. They said the're going to take a look at it and tell me what's wrong. But I'm going to take it to one of my pop family shop, on 133st on Jamaica to get it fixed (No Charge for this time lol). irate_biggrin:
I have a HP Pavilion DV2000, my charger I broke the tip, I have 3 years warranty for mine, let you tell you this the warranty ****ing sucks! I hate it, my parents paid like 300 more for that shit for just 3 year, 2 year is done already, I have one more, anyways, my charger got broke cause I keep folding it up and the tip where I plug-in to charge to use, that broke so I called up HP and told them where I bought my Laptop & I have warranty and this really nice guy told me they will send one for free in 4-7 business days it came in 4 days, got happy, all new and then the next day I check my mail box again and I saw the UPS guy came up to and said here you go, I opened it thought it was something else and it was another charger I was like oh shit, another one, I didn't call them up and said I got 1 already so why you send me another one, so now I have 2 new chargers, I put the new one away incase this one breaks I'll use the new one, and then my laptop battery keeps dying within like 1 hour it will be dead cause I over my laptop a lot. So I called them up again and I talked to the same guy again and he send me 1 battery I was waiting for like 2 weeks for the other but it didn't come so I got 1 this time, was kinda mad I got my hopes up, maybe you should had bought a warranty on it but it sucks most of the time. They keep bull shiting with people and you spend a lot of money on it. But like I called up HP one day too and bought an Restore cd for my PC and they guy send it for me and it didn't work so he send me another one, that didn't work, so he told me to send in my pc for free and he fixed it and spend it back in 7 business days. So he took off the chargers for the pill another nice guy he was the manager pretty cool chap. & now I have 2 restore cd for my laptop, 2 chargers and 1 new battery, I got it lucky LOL.
Lucky you =\...I had warranty for 2 years but it finished. But when I called today they said my warranty was over and that they couldn't help me. So I told "you guys really know how to deal with your customers" (in a mean voice). They said I had to buy warranty inorder to get help and gave me this whole crappy speech. So I go "Thank you for your help, you dum ****s!!" and hanged up LOL.
I had needed help and support to do something for the restore and the ****er told me I have to pay 14$ for 20 minutes I'm like nigga please, So I called the manager (Shawn) and he told me what to do. He's a good guy.
LOL yea I kept the number in the restore cd case, the manager will only speak to you only if purchase an item and it is giving you a problem then he will help, he had called me one morning on my cell.
