looking for a way to add performance pads like on the ddj-sr/sx on my Mixdeck Quad

As anyone who has used the Numark Mixdeck controllers knows they don't have the performance pads to trigger sound effects like many of the newer controllers do. I've was thinking of adding an Akai LPD8 to accomplish this in VDJ7. Anyone out there tried it?

I bought the akai lpd8 and it compliments the mixdeck nicely. I assigned the four pads at the top for the sampler bank and the bottom four pads for 4 bar and 8 bar loops. Also, the trim pots control each individual sampler bank. I reccomend this as the mixedeck quad doesn't have any sample or looping pads.

 

I haven't tried it but a friend of mine has tried it and said it worked great. He now uses it for turn tables.
