My advice is start from the basics learn to dj using vinyl. Once you gain the experience move up to the technology side and invest if you are serious in becoming dj. Macbook is the best way!

A computer matters absolutely. In this day and age, people don't want to go "old school" and learn to mix by ear on vinyl. With that being said, the last thing you'd want is a horrible experience with a laptop that cannot handle the load, especially if that experience happened live when you were djing at any event.

Macbooks are preferred because they don't buffer like Windows based PC's. You can count on its stability when djing. I've had scares in the past where DJing with a Windows PC with all the latest bells and whistles where it freezes up while playing live. It's scary and can tarnish your reputation.

Like the saying goes, go big or go home. It's an expensive hobby so if you want to do it, do it right.

Fast processor, enough ram and a good internal hard drive should be key things when looking for a computer.

It doesn't matter, if you just using it to play music...

Fast processor and a SSD to let the heavy DJ software run smooth. Enough RAM to multitask between programs. USB 3.0 for quick data transmission. Good soundcard to hear crystal clear what you are mixing (for desktops at home), I prefer USB soundcards.

It matters in the sense that you don't want to have your laptop crash

Its not as important as knowing how to mix and track selection. a shitty dj is a shitty dj whether your using a dinosaur from the 90s or a macbook pro from yesterday. Get a decent computer and practice practice practice.

I dont think the computer really matters. Just get a decent computer with fair amount of memory then you can move on from there. But this is for starting so keep that at the back of your mind guys.

do not use windows.. it is not as stable or smooth as macs. learning without the computer is helpful, keep u from forming bad habits and you will learn to mix properly.
