As you can see I am currently running out of space on my C-Drive all of a sudden and I am unaware why I am. This is because for the more massive files on my computer such as music, movies, etc. I saved them into my D Drive.

However I went into the CDrive looking for which files are taking up the most space and I stumbled upon a folder in the User category that was 10gbs.

But when I went into that folder the contents only added up to a few hundred megabytes

So my question is what is mysteriously taking up so much space and how can I clear it up, and yes I tried Disk clean up already and that only removed about 2mbs of space.

the only thing i could think of is a hidden folder by default in c:\users\inshan\ called appdata.
the appdata folder contains app settings, files and data specific to the apps on your pc and 3 sub-folders also.

to show hidden files and folders:

    click on options ^

thanks a lot for your input, that led me to finding a folder in the appdata that was the backup for my iphone, so i just shifted that over to my DDrive. However, I did come across a folder in the 'Windows' folder on my CDrive entitled WinSxS Properties that is taking up 12gb and not really sure what it is for or if I can move that onto my DDrive as well. My Windows folder is 35gb and thats what is really taking up the most space onto that drive since it is only 58gb.

i don't recommend moving any files or folders out of the windows directory unless you know what you're doing.
winsxs contains mainly windows update files, you can try running disk cleaner to free up disk space remember to click on 'clean up system files'.
i would disable system restore as well unless you have highly classified files you don't want to lose.
