Mixietunes - Jumbee - Green Cyard Review

Hi everyone,

My name is Steven, but people prefer to call me S.C. because of my middle name. I’ve done a lot of cd reviews in the past. I’ve been asked if I was willing to do reviews for this site. Well as you can see, I agreed on this. I will not be posting these reviews on the site. Djnasty will take care of this for me, since I’m not able to do this because of work and other personal things. Now I gave you a little run down on me. Let me start with the review of the first cd, "Green Cyard" by Mixietunes.

Well I was at the store and I saw this cd "Green Cyard" by Mixietunes. Off course, I was aware of the cd by Dj Ryan Jhingree that did Dulha and Dulahin.

I didn’t bother to compare the cds. The reason for this is that each cd is meant to be on its own way, it’s that special touch by the deejays that does it.

Before I even listened to the cd, I had asked the store owner if I could see the track list
before he played the cd for me. My first impression was, hmm okay, let’s give it a try.

After hearing the intro I said.....this sounds really good! I got really excited after hearing tracks 1 -11. After track 11, I got disappointed by the fact that this cd lost its energy it had in the beginning. The song selection that came afterwards I liked. What bothered me in this cd was how the cd was mixed. The fast songs in the first part and the slower start in the second part of the cd. Like it’s a cool down. But I think most people would agree with me that you have to give the people a warm up with the slower and then go faster to give them the feeling that they ready to dance, right?

One of the turn offs in this cd is the last song. It ends so abrupt. The mixing could use some help too! Some songs weren’t synced properly. The biggest turn off in this cd is the Dulha Chale Aage song. That selection is very weird in this when it contains all Bollywood songs. Okay, I know that the song also could be labeled as a wedding song. But it still is a weird selection for this wedding cd. Now this cd is not that bad at all. What I did like were the instrumental that he used. It sounded very nice, especially with some tassa. The song Meri Pyari Bahenia is mixed very good as well as the Behna Yeh Pyaari. Those were the peaks of this cd.

When I give reviews I always rate those cd’s by stars. One star is poor. Two stars is okay. Three stars is neutral. Four stars is good and five stars is excellent. This cd is rated for 3 stars. After hearing this cd, I wouldn’t label this as "The Ultimate Wedding Chunes Remix CD". The song selection could be improved, because there are better songs out there for a Ultimate Wedding Remix CD. I guess it’s just a matter of time when another wedding cd is going to be released.

I actually liked this CD a lot for some reason. Also a bit OT: but Congrats to Andy (Jumbee) on recently tying the knot over the weekend.

I'm sorry; is it just me or does this cd suck? I've been hearing from alot of my friends about how I should hear this cd/buy it, blah blah blah, but in general, OMG! I don't know anything about Jumbee but well i was never a fan of his, and this CD increases my dislike. The songs are common/played out/wack! Mixietunes never came out with anything decent. Hell, half their cd's list is just Jumbee putting a song compilation that he probably found on MastahPiece and calling it a cd, and if anyone want to test me, name one CD that Jumbee came out with that was half decent (meaning that the songs weren't played out, common)...

My friend bragged about this CD saying its the best and it a must have. I have listened to it. I like the song selections--could of probably been put in a different order..

I agree with you S.C. the fast songs are in first part and the slower start in the second part of the CD.

I don't think its a must have. It will definitely not be my first choice of CD to choose when i want something to listen to.
