So one day I fell asleep listening to my iPod and the battery died completely when I woke up. Now, when I turn it on it keeps saying "Connect to Power" with an empty battery image. When I connect my iPod to my computer and run iTunes, iTunes shows a message saying: When I try to restore my iPod, and error message comes up saying it could not be restored... My iPod only shows a white screen that says "Do not disconnect". I think this means the iPod is in recovery mode. Can someone help me fix this?
Try resetting it, i have a classic also, anytime something is wrong with it i just reset it and it usually fixes the problem
I've tried that multiple times. When I reset it, it just says "Connect to Power" with the empty battery image.
your ipod hard drive went bad. throw it away and get an ipod touch on liberty for 30 dollars. its 2012.
The harddrive might be fried because it keeps making some noise. I'm about to get one on Liberty when I go to New York.
Before I can do anything, it needs to be restored. I took it to a store in Queens and they said the hard drive is bad. I have two options now. Either take it to the Apple store and see what they can do or just buy a new iPod.
Im still shopping around through different Mp3 players. I wasnt really satisfied with the iPod's battery, however I do like the large hard drive. My iPod is 120 GB and I know most Mp3 players dont come with a harddrive that big.
- Before we blame the hard drive, try reinstalling the ROM thru itunes. You can find the ROM itself and how to reflash it on google. Ipod hard drives don't just go bad like that. There are a few software bugs associated with apple products such as the classic.
Take it to the apple store if its not out of your way and see what they can do. If not ny is full of places to get one for cheap and amazon is a good place also. Which brings me to my next question.... what happens if you buy something electronic from amazon and it stops working after a couple days or it shows up not working, what do you do? yea return it but what if they start giving u shit and saying stuff and dont want to take it back? You lose your money right? I always wanted to know about that because I feel like that might happen to me and thats why i dont buy electronics online at all. I dont really wanna deal with all the hassle and fatigue
Id rather take it to the Apple store and have them look at it instead of me trying to fix it and it messes up more. I agree.
I was trying to help you out on the amazon thing..... i just went there and looked at a i pod classic 160gb and it was 228 bucks but i was reading the reviews and some of them arent even good. if u gonna get one, then buy one from a store that way if anything is wrong u can always go there when your free and they will help you or if its a defected one then they might just give u a new one instead of doing it online and having to wait for shipping and all that other bull shit
I agree and also I bet most people won't accept refunds. On Amazon, you can buy products used or new. I haven't checked out the new products yet, I will do that later.
